Krista Sikkema January 7, 2022. I can't say enough great things about Compass Construction. From our very first meeting with Grant and Michaela, I could see all my dreams come alive. We thought we had a fairly good plan for what we would like to do, but their expertise was extremely valuable! After sitting down and listening to us, they came back with concepts that enhanced the flow and functionality of our home and addressed challenges we overlooked. The 3D model Michaela created helped us visualize the transformation and settle on a final layout for the remodel. After finalizing details, we signed a contract with a fixed price, which gave us confidence that our dreams would be realized without going beyond our budget.
After this, Grant got right to work. We all understood that it would be challenging to remodel the house while we were living in it (we have a family of six and a dog). Grant showed exceptional forethought to minimize the impact. Both he and his trade partners took care to keep things clean by sweeping and vacuuming daily, putting up plastic, and running air filters. Grant carefully scheduled the work so that there was little downtime in between phases of the project. He also kept us in the loop so that we knew who to expect at our doorstep every morning. Whenever small issues arose, Grant promptly adjusted things or contacted one of his trade partners.
The results exceeded our expectations. All of the work was high quality and durable. Our home now feels like “us” and draws us together as a family. And even after the project was finished, Michaela and Grant have taken time to check and see if there was anything we needed.
We are completely satisfied with the quality of work and professionalism that Compass Construction provides. They took ownership of the project from the beginning ideas, down into the details, and all the way through to the end. The Stellings are an exceptional team who listens, seeks to understand your needs, and communicates openly.

It's SO hard to find contractors who are so willing to do smaller projects and in a timely manner and also willing to be fully transparent and open in communication with the client, and they far exceeded our expectations. As DIYers at heart, we had never worked with a contractor before and they did such a great job of working with us to navigate the path of what would be a good fit for us to accomplish on our own and what they could do for us!
